All writers should be banding together. When you take the humanity out of storytelling, corporate Newspeak worms it's way in. Fewer interesting stories get told and we are intellectually and spiritually poorer for it. People need to pay for art & that includes patrons at every level. The bottom line with this gig artistry economy is devaluation -- of both people & art.
