As a formerly overweight woman, I never bought into the strange idea of loving yourself at any size. Nature means for us to be slim, and a normal body weight is associated with better health. The sad part is our society profits off selling junk food, useless diets, and the myth that eating fat is unhealthy. I've learned many lessons on the journey from 150 lbs to 110, but the primary one is that sugar and processed carbs are a deadly combo. I'm not only thinner now, I'm much healthier. Our collective health began a nose dive with the "low fat, high carb" quasi-vegetarian gov't food pyramid. 1980 was a watershed year for pushing low-fat, high sugar foods.
