Big Food tries to keep you addicted to their bestsellers (soda, cookies, etc.) by saying (1) there are no bad foods (2) just eat less! (3) just move more! (4) the USDA guidelines work! Most people don't have a genetic weakness, they have a idiet high in sugar and calories that is fully supported by our gov't, the diet industry, and many of our institutions (ie schools, hospitals, prisons, etc.). But I agree--it's also up to the individual to self-educate.
