Bureaucrats are necessary, unless we are going to dismantle the military, schools, the national parks, and other large organizations where scale is integral to getting the job done. Bureaucrats keep the engines moving as necessary cogs, and there is plenty of argument that park rangers and letter carriers provide real value.
