Housing and healthcare have fallen to the insatiable profiteers--which includes any of us who can pay the entry fee in the market driven, gig economy. If mom&pop landlords could find a way to profit from others' medical needs, we would! As bad as things are for renters, the corporate takeover of the rental market will eventually price most of us small landlords out of the game. Will this be an improvement? Unlikely until the wage & wealth gap is addressed.
