I agree. A whole lotta people are just not that bright, and that goes for a boatload of young people, who vote based on a vast incomprehension of how government works, how ideology affects policy, and the tired old "all politicians are the same" excuse. *Not all young people. I say this as a relatively educated person who voted for Nader when I was in my thirties (shame). It takes a lot of decades to figure out how the political game works, and how to look past superficial sound bite self-promotion and evaluate a candidate's character.
