I agree, and this makes me feel both lucky and terrified for the non-privileged autistics. The experience of "being left out" is excruciating. In my life, that has meant being left of the elite culture I was born into. It's a dream deferred but I'm damn lucky I can fall back on being able to get an education and have mostly been able to stay employed.
