I am no Russian scholar but what Gorbachev did as an enlightened leader is a testament to what can happen in Russia when someone who isn't paranoid and greedy and homicidal is in power. The slow poisoning of our political process in the US by wealth has finally infected not just the leglislature and the Presidency but has now spread to our judicial branch. To me, that's a shocker. We are in deep trouble.
