I appreciate the sentiment but disagree that quitting sugar altogether is impractical. It's more addictive than cocaine, worse than coffee, and has devastating metabolic effects -- so if you are going to quit something, sugar is a good bet. Like alcoholics who can't have a drop of alcohol, most people--especially diabetics, people with cancer, and anyone who is overweight--should quit sugar outright. It's not that hard and there are substitutes for the occasional treat like monk fruit, stevia, and xylitol that are less harmful. I say this as someone who finally has control of my weight after getting off the stuff. In addition to the diabetes and cancer connection, sugar is a no-go for people with leaky gut and autoimmune disease.
