I didn't get diagnosed till 57 (a year ago) and I genuinely had zero clues about how bad I was at connecting, maintaining, and initiating when it came to relationships. As for repairing them, that was light years beyond my skill level. I was coping. We struggle so much with insight when we are living a blind life without self-knowledge or a reliable feedback loop to see ourselves clearly. This fresh light and the term "neurodivergent" have changed the game for so many people, especially older women like me.
