I feel remote work--the desirable kind that pays well and maybe even has benefits--is quite competitive. It's a new perk, benefit, and status symbol to have the privilege to work at home. I use Upwork and it's a mixed bag. Never found a job with benefits but a few seasonal and short gigs have paid fairly well.
