I got out of high school teaching because I was exhausted but I also felt psychologically unsafe, and sometimes physically so. In the US, the philosophy for the last 30-40 years has been to make sure every kid graduates high school, because kids with high school degrees do so much better than dropouts. Unfortunately, this means keeping kids in school who, frankly, suck. Their parents suck, so you can see how it happens....but still. We have poor practices at schools for dealing with people who happen to also be criminals. In the past, the criminals usually left or the school was able to say Good Riddance. This social media stuff is horrifying, and I'm glad I got out five years ago, before COVID, tablets, and the increasing absurdity of allowing personal phones in the classroom.
