I highly recommend two documentaries about ants, but as a former ant keeper, I am biased! Empire of the Ants is an Attenborough joint:

Also, Planet Ant: Life Inside the Colony, in which a couple of UK scientists bring a huge leafcutter colony back to the lab for study. They discover so much cool stuff, including that ants make noise. Yes! They are not silent, they are just so small we can't hear all the chirping without super microphones.
When it comes to human behavior, the 4-part documentary Chimp Empire is truly an eye-opener regarding our primitive social relations.
I'm fascinated by our group behavior, and how unaware we are of it--yet how it drives so much of our lives, especially in terms of what we think are choices but are mostly roles.
