I Like Heroes Who Don’t Get Wounded
Biden tells crowd at Dole funeral what he really thinks
A former US Senator died this week. His name was Bob Dole, and he hailed from Russellville, Kansas. Voted best-looking boy in his senior class, he shipped off to World War II where shrapnel felled him.
His wounds were so severe he was left for dead on the battlefield.
Joe Biden attended Dole’s funeral, and didn’t compare him to John McCain, a hero if he hadn’t been captured.
Lest we forget the vile pronouncements of our former President.
You might not love rising gas prices, inflation, and the never-ending Covid battle — but you can’t fault Joe Biden for being a decent human being.
Bob Dole’s wound healed, slowly. Fighting for his country, he ended up instead in a hospital for over a year. He couldn’t use his right arm, had to learn to feed himself, and suffered pain the rest of his long life.
I’m of the mind that heroes come in all shapes and sizes. They include teachers, train porters, artists, public health workers, grocery clerks, and truck drivers.
I wish I could go to a baseball game and we could all stand up and cheer for long haul drivers and kindergarten teaches as we hail our soldiers.
