I live in a community of older adults (average age, 67) and man, do they drink. They drink till they slur. They drive inebriated (this is central AR and the winding hills are no joke), and they drink while you are asking for their car keys and they don't give them to you. It's frankly alarming, and because of the stupid "I'm older and smarter than you" BS that permeates the culture of those in their 60s/70s and yes, 80s, it's really hard to talk to anyone about considering not driving drunk. It's like everyone returns to adolescence. Fortunately, I can't drink and haven't for about 10 years because one glass of wine and I can't sleep, plus I get hungover. I wish I could find some sober friends....
