I tend to agree that cutting carbs works better than cutting protein but the reason I suggest reducing sizes of meat portions are that people who eat meat can overeat, especially at dinner. Learning to eat less is the key to weight loss, and any approach that a person can stick with helps recalibrate how much food is actually necessary. I think the key is drastically reducing (if not eliminating) sugar and flour products, and processed foods generally--consistent with getting insulin back to normal levels!
