I think it's possible to admire women and also want to subjugate them, but I also wonder if there weren't so many female characters in BTVS because its cresator wanted to be around a lot of attractive women. Seems like his relationship with men also involved a lot of intimidation tactics, too. Here's hoping he has a chance to recover, make amends, and grow which is tough to do when still gripped by power and prestige.
