I think privatized prisons rank right up there. The victims are society's most vulnerable. Some criminal justice reform is helping but the way the poor are price-gouged is truly mind-boggling. The prison situation reminds me of our healthcare sham, since in both cases you get kicked when you're down, and the malfeasance leads to early deaths. With medicine, you are at the mercy of a system you need for health, and one you've been paying into for bankruptcy protection, so in my book, the privatization of medicine is the worst part of our predatory American experiment.
