I was going to comment on this too. The assumption in this article that “low access” jobs should attract young people is inaccurate. Many older people take those jobs because nobody will hire you over 50, if you have gray hair etc (being female compounds ageism as well) so that guts a big chunk of this article’s premise. It’s true that we lack enough tradespeople & the author is spot on about why: pejorative societal attitudes.
