I wish too. I’m autistic & ADHD and the combo sucks, mainly because of the mentality of “we’re all weird.” No—some of us get bullied a lot more for no reason than showing up. Neurodivergence was coined to make disabilities better understood, especially the invisible ones. Dyslexia is now diagnosed more, which means fewer kids need to grow up believing they are “just stupid.” If the label isn’t so harsh and pejorative- like “disorder” it’s a helluva a lot easier to know what is actually going on. Neurodivergence is a huge leap forward in recognizing some of us are more vulnerable.
