I worked from 11 years old till recently. I am 57, late diagnosed. My last job was part-time, as a 9-1-1 Dispatcher. I managed to learn it, but in 4 months worked 9 different shifts, and the only way to go full-time and get health benefits (my initial goal) was to work the graveyard shift. Sadly, many workplaces don't accommodate any disability. Had I known I was autistic, I might've asked....Yet after a lifetime of exhaustion, I'm retiring early. I'm lucky I can get by, but with two master's degrees and a so-called high IQ, it's been really, really difficult. I've always been baffled by by how any woman can work full-time and raise a child, and have a life. I could only manage one and I chose work--and I couldn't do that one thing without being overwhelmed. All of your points ring true.
