I worked with cops for the last four months. Being a cop is a hard job, and I wouldn't want to do it--and I totally get why they make mistakes. You have to deal with a lot of in-the-field decision-making, combined with insane amounts of paperwork. It's like teaching school, with the possibility of getting shot or shooting someone.
