I would add, the interiors of cars. Never a place to put a purse up front. Can't wait for the day some engineer, male or female, figures out a fix for this one. Another factor when it comes to heat/cold is people moving around vs. people who are sitting. Teachers vs students, workers vs. patrons, air stewards/esses vs passengers. Whoever is moving is warmer. Maybe those people also tend to be in charge?
