In theory this article makes sense. I moved two years ago out of Tucson, AZ for this very reason. A year later, Tucson has its worst fire in living memory, hottest summer on record, and the drought continues. I chose central AR because there are few natural disasters here, plenty of freshwater, and an acceptable climate. But now we are seeing heat domes in Canada, so moving -- unless you live in an extreme environment like Miami, Phx, or some of the others -- isn't always the best choice. In AR, tornadoes are becoming more common. As other commenters noted, it's going to suck everywhere in short order. The problem is when creatures (shellfish, insects, etc.) start dying, the food chain will become disrupted and starvation will be another factor. We count on being first-worlders and being buffeted from the storm, but there are multiple unknown variables in the coming climate catastrophe.
