It was only through the dedication of his attorney that Mr. Hamm has lived as long as he has. I do not understand why Alabama didn't make a deal with another state that used an alternative method, such as they have in TN, to carry out the execution. They really overestimated their abilities. The whole story is bizarre, although after researching it I don't think Hamm was the best candidate for the death penalty from the beginning.
