It's a good question! I do feel better but I would do much better if I diligenty practiced my exercises, especially chanting. One lasting effect is that I'm always aware of my breathing, so if I get anxious I immediately notice if I am mouth-breathing and stop. I can use humming or chanting to improve my breathing as well as simply shutting my mouth. I am extremely aware of the relationship between feeling anxious and how I'm breathing. I will never stop using mouth tape at night, or if napping!
