It's about a lot more than being skinny. It's about thinking about food all the time--what can I eat, what can't I eat, did I eat too much, etc. The only time in my life my appetite has been normal--that is, when I didn't constantly feel hungry, struggle with portions, or think about what to eat, and regret what I just ate--was when I managed the carnivore diet for a year and four months. It was a godsend because I ate "normally" since I wasn't constantly hungry. The only problem...not practical, plus nutritionally dubious. Carbs take over my brain, even if I'm mostly eating brown rice and yams. "Create bad eating habits?" Sorry--do you know what it's like to constantly diet otherwise your weight will go up uncontrollably? "Important lessons about body image?" Have you been fat?? Do you know what it's like to be discriminated against? You might want to consider how much unrelenting work it is to have a second job called dieting, and one that doesn't pay off well.
