It's hard for me to completely buy into the stats re: autism and health because of what I think is a vast underdiagnosis problem. Aside from the fact that women have been missed in the millions. I'm pretty sure in my generation (also X, b. 1965) a lot of less severe autistics like me (I was just "gifted") were missed of both sexes. So what happens to us? Do we develop the same types of health problems? Based on this n of 1, that's a yes. Autoimmune disease, allergies, and overall a rather tired CNS. And man, do I wish I could find a decent doctor who doesn't condescend! I'm 100% with you on getting to a stage of life where I'm not being spoken to like a fool by someone in a white coat!
