It's highly ironic that a hallmark of autism is not being believed. Here we are, begging for someone to take our plight seriously--not being believed. It's hard to tell someone you ARE because you risk being dismissed, unseen, unheard, and retraumatized. It's hard to say nothing because our community desperately needs more openness. We need to be seen.
