It's moving around, at a slow to moderate pace, most of the day, that makes the difference. The association between health and activity needs more studies examining cause-effect. Aren't healthy people more likely to move around? Is the activity causing health, or the other way around? The research is very clear on one point: prolonged sitting is terrible for overall health. Getting up about every 30 minutes, even for a few minutes, makes a big difference based on studies of interrupted sitting.
