It’s recognizing a basic truth: if we don’t reproduce, we can’t flourish. If we do reproduce given our current population, we overpopulate. We are inherently incapable of solving this problem, which is our own success as a species: the success of so many of us existing. China tried, and failed miserably. The problem of overpopulation doesn’t get addressed because we don’t have a workable solution.
