I've been surprised at how disappointing FB is. I mean, there are like 3 people (honestly, not even people I consider close friends) who regularly read my articles. On the upside, my brother-in-law has become a fan. If someone I knew on FB published a mildly interesting article as a freelance writer, I'd at least read some of it and "like it." It takes about 15 seconds do that and 95% of FB is either trite, kittens, babies, memes, or wholly unoriginal nature photos! Conclusion: people love memes and kittens.
