I've written for Upwork, and much worse places where you fill in the blanks. I agree 100%. Even for marketing I like, such as outdoor gear, it got old pretty fast. But with Medium as it is, I need to get back to making some money in 2022. I wrote for an online news outlet for a while that paid well...but the paychecks weren't reliable and I got fed up. It's a tough biz, especially these days, even if you are experienced and talented (like you are).
