Many, many Americans want affordable healthcare. I've considered moving abroad for this reason alone. Another big swath, the same 35% who are morons, buy hook, line, and sinker the continued lies from the GOP about how any affordable care is a gov't scam, socialism, etc. The healthcare insurance scam in this country runs on (1) ignorance and (2) people with good jobs who are young and have employer-covered care and don't understand what the rest of us have to deal with. By "the rest of us" I mean anyone self-employed, working in a job that doesn't offer benefits, so young you can pretend you don't need health insurance (or have no assets to protect, or are covered by your parents), or on Medicare or Medicaid. We who are 50-something and without jobs that provide insurance have no lobby--we don't even have AARP which goes to bat for Medicare people 65+.
