Nice article, but I have to disagree about the plant-based diet. The jury is still out (way out) on whether a plant-based diet works. A low fat diet with more fruits and veggies has been pushed by the USDA for decades, and 88% of Americans are metabolically unhealthy, according to a recent study by the University of North Carolina. There is much to be gained by eating a ketogenic diet that limits carbs...and uses plenty of butter and red meat. Dr. Mehmet Yildiz writes about this topic extensively, including researching showing a ketogenic diet may prevent cognitive decline and can successfully treat Alzheimer's. A keto diet is very high in fat and in animal products.
