Our country is flooded with guns the same way it's been doused with opioids. Both are easy to get and do their job, killing--especially young people. We can never solve either problem until the profiteers admit they are getting rich off American deaths. The men raking in money include our elected officials, who remain in office because they collect payouts from gun lobbyists. It's not the use of the guns so much as the astrounding prevalence of them that is shocking and discouraging. Australia would be an excellent role model but our leaders would need to step up & too many of them make their living pandering to a base of Don't Tread on Me wacko extremists whose only feeling of security and self-worth comes from carrying a pistol with them.
