RA often responds well, and quickly, to dietary restrictions. Usually, dairy & grains are the worst offenders but for many, I suspect there is a wide, wide array of problematic foods. After a year on the Autoimmune Protocol (AIP) diet, I had a little help. Ultimately, it's about healing my gut lining so I've gone a step farther with a therapeutic carnivore (high-fat) diet. I have low thyroid. Levothyroxine, the standard treatment, is the most prescribed Rx in the world--and yet little is said about diet. It's a shame: our doctors aren't getting trained in the most recent information about the role of diet in inflammation and, particularly, autoimmune conditions.
