She has an illness, in my view, that isn't being treated. On the other hand, it's the type of illness where treatment often fails. So I guess my question is--where is her family to intervene and get her the best possible care, even if that care doesn't work? I don't know--maybe someone already is trying to help. It's like any other illness and the important thing here is not to blame the victim. As with alcoholism, anorexia looks simple--as you described, "just eat a sandwich"--but of course it isn't.
