Six years ago I moved to a new home and, with little effort, made several good friends there--all 20 years older than me. I was working at home and they were retired. My husband became friends with their spouses, and we all lived in a little townhome village of maybe 90 units. Fast forward--I moved to another retirement community in another state, knowing no one. Two months later, Covid hit. Only recently am I getting to know people here and no one has come over socially, although we've been to a neighbor's house twice now. The first experience was so easy, and this one is much harder...mostly because of Covid, I guess (hope). I work at home and the only way to meet anyone is through church. Last week I joined a ladies basketballl group, so there is hope. It is slow going.
