So many yesses. College is great, if you have a plan. But going without one is risky, as you can spend the first year, or two, or three, muddling through trying out different courses of study. I ended up with a degree in philosophy, not much wiser, after an expensive education. I treasure my college years but really wish I'd learned a marketable skill. Truth is, I'd have been happier learning to be a plumber or electrician, something hands-on....but I didn't know myself well enough to understand that when I was 18.
