Thanks for writing this as I've felt the same but couldn't figure out how to express my feelings. Burning Man reeks of a kind of naive privilege but there is nothing wrong with having a big party with "your people." I think at the beginning it was more about art, now it's more about being in the scene. I have deeply mixed feelings about that festival, too, because burning something "for fun" when the last thing this world needs is more shit on fire ... I dunno, it just seems incredibly self-indulgent in the way that only white 20-something westerners could do.
