Thanks for your series and this article. i am hypothyroid and now carnivore, after finding paleomedicina in Hungary, a clinic that specializes in diets for autoimmune diseases. AIP helped me somewhat: I lost a little weight. But I'd been gluten and dairy free prior, and didn't notice much difference in my TSH. My labs for TSH were 11 prior to AIP, 9.8 after AIP. After 5 weeks carnivore, my TSH dropped to 5. That's lower than it's been in five years, as I no longer take synthroid. Even on synthroid, it was rarely that low. This, despite having gone through menopause.
I've literally tried every treatment for hypothyroid, including blood-sugar balancing diets, stress relief, breathing methods, quitting gluten/dairy, taking T3 directly, and removing virtually all stress from my love. I can honestly say eating carnivore has worked.
I aso went from 120 pounds to 109 in five weeks - weight I could never lose despite exercise and AIP, which is quite a strict diet.
That said, I think AIP is helpful. I suspect keto helps, too, especially if hypothyroid peeps give up grains, dairy, and nightshades completely.
