The first line of this piece is so true! I guess it shows how much we hide from ourselves in our eternal attempts to create continuity and safety. Identity is much more ever-shifting than we know, I believe. It's too scary and tiring to juggle multiple narratives about who we are so we stick with the worn paths, but at any time we can wake up and realize there's more to us, or that we were blind to something so essential about ourselves.
