The question at the very end -- why is sexism on the Left so hard to stamp out? -- is troubling. Perhaps we on the Left aren't so pure, so woke and so progressive as we like to beleive.

Sexims has a momentum we've created in a male-dominated culture in which many men are blind and deaf to the stories of the Opposite Sex, just like many whites are blind to the stories of our black brothers and sisters. #MeToo is helping and so is #BlackLivesMatter. Both movements are making a difference, and yet both seem to push the pendulum too far, seeming to villify MOST men as pigs and MOST white women as Karens. But pigs and Karens are the language and the necessary constructs of righteous rage, aren't they? Until you name and identify the problem & the enemy, how do you fight it? It's a lot easier to fight another person, or group of people, than an idea. And in many cases, like firing and taking police to trail, and jailing Harvey Weinstein...you do have to fight other people.

But let's make sure they are the people who need to be jailed and silenced and exiled.

When it comes sexism and racis, both resemble the Coronvirus, where 80% of cases are caused by 20% of people (superspreaders). Most every other destructive ill we perpetrate on each other -- racism, sexism, ageism -- is caused by a vocal and (apparently) relentless minority. Karens are real, but all of us have to transcend simple-minded mob mentality and put aside instant judgements based on demographics, neighborhoods and easy labels.
