The recommendations I've seen are to get up, even for a minute, every 15 to 20 minutes. It takes practice. I set a timer for 17 minutes whenver I hit the couch. The more I read about sitting, sedentariness, and gravity and observe how much sitting is BUILT-IN to our modern lives (TV, driving, computer, comfy furniture) the less I sit!
