There are plenty of HSPs who do not thrive in relationships. The idea that HSP is some kind of emotional superpower negates how so many of the traits play out in real life. HSPs need to get reclusive at times. I'm autistic, highly empathetic, and can manage intimidate relationships fine. It's the maintenance of more than a few relationships that's a problem. Autism isn't a lack of empathy, it's a lack of 'normal' (neurotypical) communication which gets misunderstood. Autism is a different learning, thinking, and communication style.
