Most people's idea of anarchy and fewer other humans is a delusional survival scenario in which they will roam and open, ravaged countryside scrounging for food, or else set up an idyllic farm in a world with few others. What awaits us is more like a Walking Dead scenario but with no ability to grow food. As you point out-growing food is hard if you know what you are doing in a predictable climate. Forget about it if you a novice in a highly unpredictable climate. When it comes to farming, the weather is everything.
