This can happen in small, simple ways. I'm slightly ill today and went to do laundry this morning after skipping my morning routine ("I'm on vacation and sick and it's 27 degrees and I don't want to go outside"). I was uncomfortable and tired but didn't realize it. While waiting for laundry I bought a cold, sweet drink to comfort myself. Then I got much colder, so 20 minutes later I bought a cup of coffee to warm up. I spent more $$ than I wanted (and got more buzzed than I wanted) and all because I wasn't doing very well to begin with. Decision-making is very depending on not only mood but overall comfort and energy levels. As a lifelong moody person, I can attest these little swerves off course add up!
