This is an issue that deserves attention. People like to talk about how we are "addicted" to oil but that is a false analogy. We are dependent on it, but it's not an addiction. We are capable of shifting much of our driving to electric, driving less/rationing, drilling less, and developing alt energy sources at greater pace. Those things are happening but not fast enough. What we are missing is leadership from fossil fuel companies, but perhaps that can be speeded up with more lawsuits--like the ones that changed the game for Big Tobacco. I agree, it's too late but at the same time never too late.
