This is highlighted in an incident in July in which a $2 million dollar lottery winner from Nov 2020 was the victim of a murder-suicide in her Oklahoma home. Her family has a gofundme page for burial, cleaning up the scene, and trying to get her 3 children out of state custody. They have no access to her winnings, which are tied up in probate. She had no will, and no life insurance.
